💡Adolescence is a stage of life that is crucial for an individual healthy growth and an expatriation can be a great empowering experience during that time (even if challenging), a real booster, if only done with the right supportive system!
👉Adjusting abroad is a long process for anyone and the U curve of adaptation applies to anyone.
👉 This interesting process can be a great opportunity though for us to pause - hear what our teenagers have to say and make sense out of challenging talks.
💡The presence we must have with our teens during an expatriation because it is challenging - might be a chance for a lot of parents who never really spent quality time to understand what changes their teens are undergoing
👉 Here are a few signs that could warn us when abroad

:
✅ Continuous talk about “home culture”, constant comparison
✅ Social media and an exaggerated time spent with former friends or former culture related topics
✅ Inability to find a local community (activities, sports, etc..)
💡How can we help?
👉A good start is by being “present” and support the stages of adjustments, the resilience they will need to build during this experience abroad !
“Presence is the most fundamental gift we can give our children in terms of creating a positive environment for them to develop and grow” Dr. Siegel
