💡 Communicating well among people from various cultures takes more than understanding the existence of cultural differences, or being efficient at mirroring and showing empathy.
👉 People from different cultures are not expecting you to act or think like them.
In the contrary, they are expecting you to think and act the way they think you would do "coming from country A" and that's the real challenge!
You might not indeed share the same image you have from country A..
This is where the quote "when in Rome do as the romans do" finds its limits when it comes to cross cultural communication efficiency!
👉 Avoid to dive in the pitfall!!
💡 Communicating well among a multicultural group is the result of a very agile, well documented strategy of understanding and applying various concepts in the same time when making sense of a conversation.
Eg: if managing a multi-cultural team, you would need - not only to understand how you re perceived, what is expecting from you - being a manager coming from culture x - but also what is expected from a good manager ..in the host country - knowing that your group of employee can come from various cultures themselves...meaning having different expectations ..😅
👉Quiet complex ..you think! Well that's the art of being able to communicate well, transferring your message efficiently among various cultures!
✅ The good news is, you can be prepared for it! just ask for the right support!
