🌎 What are the "things I wished I'd known" before moving abroad with children!

👇👇👇

💡As I was talking to new expat families freshly arrived for a new start and a great adventure! I thought it would be nice to share what is surprisingly challenging them the most and give a few tips to help because it all goes down to a precise, efficient preparation !

👉#1 Every expat is so different,

Indeed, it is not because you've traveled the world that everything will be "quick and easy"! Copy-pasting is not working when moving around!

It could be your 6th expatriation and the most difficult one!

👉#2 Expatriation is not easy for children!

Yes, children are flexible, adaptive, will make new friends, etc..but the process of adjusting is a long-complex process and kids could hide emotions for a long time to help us also cope with all the changes!

Some small details but important, have to be taken into account before moving (ie: a good local club of their favorite sport where coaches speak ..english!, etc.)

👉#3 Everyone adjusts at different time, on a different way, on different events and it is hard to predict!

👉#4 It is not because the housing, schooling, paperwork, etc. is sorted that all will go smoothly...this will not help to smoothen the process of adjustment!

👉 How to help mitigate these effects 👉 As always👉 with a great anticipation of the move and the right preparation of all the members moving abroad !
